Watch the PS5 Showcase: FF16, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon's Souls, Hogwarts Legacy, more
Brace for impact. This is not a drill. Repeat: this is not a drill.
Today is the day we got another PlayStation 5 livestream. The PS5 Showcase is 40 minutes in runtime, and features a look at first and third-party games coming to Sony's next-gen console at launch and beyond. If you haven't already seen it, get on it.
The show kicked off today at 1pm PDT, 4pm EDT, 9pm BST, 10pm CEST. After European retailers already let the price of the PS5 slip, Sony confirmed the numbers that matter. The price of the PlayStation 5 is $499.99 / £449.99, with the Digital Edition selling for less at $399.99 and £359.99.
It's due for release on November 12 in Japan and the US, and November 19 for the rest of the world. Blimey!
The show can be watched on Twitch and YouTube, and we've embedded both stream below.
UPDATES: The first big reveal for Sony's PlayStation 5 was Final Fantasy 16 from Square Enix. Yep, after months of rumours we finally got confirmation and our first look at gameplay and story. It's exclusive to the PS5 console, but all footage shown was from PC.
Next up was Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and we got a proper look at gameplay as Miles wanders around Harlem in the snow. The Tinkerer and The Underground were shown as villains and there was a bit of a dust up between those guys, a corporation called Roxxon and Miles himself. It all looked very... Spider-Manish, especially with the collapsing bridge.
Avalanche showed off its Harry Potter project, Hogwarts Legacy. There was a dragon in it! And the trailer was pretty neat. It's coming in 2021.
Raven Software showed a peek at the first portion of a mission from Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War as Mason and chums infiltrate a base, watch a few baddies do some murderin' and then go loud with a few well-placed headshots. Yep, it's Call of Duty. Oh, and s**t the bed, the multiplayer alpha is exclusive to PS4 this Friday, with pre-loading starting tomorrow.
Capcom dropped another trailer for Resident Evil 8: Village and that was enough for us to let one go. It's coming in 2021, you spooky little f**kers.
Deathloop continues to look groovy with another trailer teasing the combatants of Arkane and Bethesda's next shooter. There was a lot of sass, a lot of death and even more style. It's out Q2 2021 so mark you diaries.
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition popped up too, direct from Capcom. Don't ask me who's Dante or Virgil or the other fella, because I don't know. I do know it's out digitally at launch.
And what's this? Oh, it's Oddworld: Soulstorm and it looks alright.
Bluepoint Games revealed proper gameplay for its Demon's Souls remake, and flipping heck that got us all excited, didn't it? It looks bloody lovely.
We were teased the PlayStation Plus Collection: Monster Hunter World, Fallout 4, God of War, Days Gone, Until Dawn, Detroit, Battlefield 1, Infamous Second Son, The Last Guardian, The Last of Us Remastered, Persona 5, Resident Evil 7 and more will be available as downloads at launch.
But wait! There was also a little tease for a new God of War title, Ragnarok, from Sony Santa Monica.
Keep our PS5 pre-order page bookmark because we'll be updating it with all the relevant pre-order information.
