PS4 releasing Jan 6 in India for 39,990 INR
The PlayStation 4 will be releasing on January 6 in India and will cost Rs. 39,990, Sony PlayStation India revealed during a press event held in New Delhi yesterday.
The event was presided over by Country Manager PlayStation India, Mr.Atindria Bose and the entire launch plans for the next-gen device were laid bare during the event.
Only the base model will be available at launch, and no bundles will be sold in India as of now. Accessories such as the PlayStation Eye and Dualshock 4 controllers will be available as standalone units too. Both will set you back by Rs. 4,999 a piece.
PlayStation India also revealed the launch line-up of games for the PS4 in India along with their prices. Full list below -

- Killzone: Shadow Fall - Rs. 3,999
- Just Dance 2014 - Rs. 2,999
- NBA 2K14 - Rs. 2,999
- Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - Rs. 3,499

Crowd reactions to the price point in India has been mixed. Many feel that the console as well as the games are too expensive while others seem to be of the opinion that things will improve soon as Sony might just be trying to cash in on the popularity of the console and might reduce the price once the initial hype settles down.
