Project Phoenix passes $800,000, limited figurine added to rewards
Project Phoenix developer Creative Intelligence Arts has now raised more than $800,000 towards its tactical-RPG on Kickstarter. The milestone unlocks new stretch goals, including a figurine of elven pathfinder Sylrianah.
In a press release sent to VG247 this morning, the studio confirmed that the milestone gives all backers of the game's physical copy a free poster, while those who had digital copies in their possible reward packages will get a download of the game as promised.
The studio has also teamed up with Japanese toy manufacturer Good Smile Company, creators of figurines for such series as Touhou Project, Attack on Titan, and Valkyria Chronicles, to create a figure for the game, based on elven pathfinder Sylrianah. It can be obtained by backing the $950 funding tier on the Kickstarter page, or through PayPal once the campaign ends.
Here's some concept art of Sylrianah:
In a statement, Project Phoenix's producer and director Hiroaki Yura said, "We are extremely grateful for the passion, enthusiasm, and generosity of our backers. Our fans have shown time after time again that they are excited by our mission to revive the JRPG genre. Furthermore, we're thankful that a reputable company like Good Smile has faith in our ability to succeed and we are excited to be working with them to bring one of our cherished characters to life."
Project Phoenix is coming to PC, Mac, Linux, PS4 and PS Vita in mid 2015.
