Project Eternity Kickstarter overtakes Double Fine Adventure
Obsidian's old school RPG Project Eternity has become Kickstarter's best-funded games project, overtaking Double Fine Adventure.
Double Fine Adventure, which is credited with inspiring the significant numbers of small and medium sized developers utilising Kickstarter, closed its fundraising campaign with $3,334,890.
At time of writing, Project Eternity has more than 20 hours still on the clock, and has attracted $3,345,500.
The latest milestone, $3 million, unlocked Strongholds in the finished game, while the next stretch goal, $3.5 million, will add a second large city to its world.
Project Eternity will produce an RPG in the style of classics from Black Isle; several alumni of the lauded team are on board the project, notable Chris Avellone.
Thanks, Polygon.
