Project Dark now known as Dark Souls, not connected to Demon's Souls at all
See that name above? Project Dark? Forget it. The next game from the creators of Demon's Souls is now known as Dark Soul.
The news on the title change comes in this week's Famitsu. And just in case you thought there was a small tiny connection to Demon's Souls in terms of story anyway, there isn't: Dark Soul won't use the same story or same world as the infamously difficult PS3 RPG.
Worlds in the game won't also be tied together as they are in Demon's Souls, but developer From Software has said Dark Soul's gameplay will be similar in concept to DS in a trial and error-like way.
The world setting for Dark Soul is said to be "medieval dark fantasy," with many other themes such as "high fantasy of kings and knights," "death and the depths of the world" and more.
As for multiplayer, the game will feature elements similar to Demon's Souls, such as co-op and PvP.
Dark Soul releases this year for PS3 and 360 from Namco Bandai Games.
Thanks, GAF.
