Project Awakened funding put on hold "effective immediately," due to "alternative funding options"
Phosphor Games has put funding on hold for Project Awakened "effective immediately."
According to a statement on the official website, pledges will be receiving a full refund.
"Phosphor Games would like to thank you for your continued support of Project Awakened, but at this time we need to put our funding endeavor on hold effective immediately," reads the statement. "Everyone who pledged money will be receiving a full refund.
"Rest assured, our goal is to one day complete this game that we are all very passionate about. There have been some alternative funding options that have recently been presented to us, so please continue to keep an eye out on our Facebook page for future updates."
Sounds as though these "alternative funding options" could point towards a larger investor, publisher, or it would possibly be going the paid-Alpha route. We'll see if we can find out more for you.
The project was first put to Kickstarter, with a $500,000 funding goal, only to end with just $338,498 in pledges.
The firm then started polling fans as to whether it should continue its crowdfunding endeavor.
