Game strategy guide publisher Prima Games is closing its doors

The Dorling Kindersley arm of Penguin Random House has announced it will shut down the Prima Games division in 2019.

Prima Games, the video game strategy guide publisher formed in 1990, will shut its doors by spring 2019.

News of the closure was confirmed to EGM. The Roseville, California office will close this month, while the Indianapolis end will publish contracted material until March.

When the New York office will cease operations is not known as of press time (thanks, Siliconera).

Prima produced some really helpful guides over the years. Since its inception, the company published over a thousand titles with sales in the tens of millions.

It started offering digital guides for sale in the mid-2000s.
