Prey Walkthrough - Detour Mission, Psychotronics Guide, How to get the Psychoscope

Prey, a sci-fi action horror from Arkane Studios, lets players tackle scenarios in numerous ways. This guide will walk you through the game with ideal solutions, passwords you need, and general tips.

Now that January has both revealed themselves to Morgan and tasked the player with destroying Talos 1, Morgan will have quite the task ahead. In this Prey walkthrough we'll helo you gain the blueprints for one of the keys to destroy the space station. We'll also tell you how to get the Psychoscope.

At the beginning of the Psychotronics area, once Morgan has just left the Talos 1 Lobby area, December, a brand new Operator that still retains your own voice, will contact Morgan, telling them to go and retrieve the key to Alex's private escape shuttle.

To get to the Deep Storage area and continue with the Detour mission, continue down this set of stairs, fighting a Phantom that you encounter on the staircase, and proceed through the door you come to at the bottom to finally gain access to Psychotronics.

Once you're in the next area, use your Gloo Cannon to seal off the the electrical junction that's on your left, and continue through to the Security Station, where you'll have to take on a Mimic. Turn left at the junction after this and take down the Phantom hiding in this next room, and then continue ahead, only to find that you'll need the Psychoscope to proceed any further.

Find the Psychoscope in Prey

Turn right and head into the other bathroom area, dropping down through the hole in the floor to pick up the Medkit there, and deal with the Mimics that come through the wall of Gloo. Head through to where the Mimics came from, and collect the Psychoscope at the end of this area, with January revealing that Morgan is in fact the one who invented the item in the first place.

Retreat back to where you were originally denied entry, and deal with the Phantom that is patrolling the area there. Head through into the next area, up the gravity lift, and Alex will engage with Morgan, revealing that he is somewhat willing to co-operate, and telling Morgan that he should recalibrate the Psychoscope in order to proceed further.

Interact with each of the four pods in the center of this area, and scan the Phantoms contained using your Psychoscope. After this, Alex will contact you again, and Morgan will have acquired the ability to go into the G.U.T.S. testing area. Before you do this though, head to the right of the room and smash through the Gloo blocking the window, and sealing the electrical junction in the next room with the Gloo Cannon. Use the safe code Alex just gave you to open the safe in this room, and acquire a few special new items.

Now proceed into the G.U.T.S. area, and listen the monologue from Alex, before heading down the corridor to the right and into the morgue area. At this point, Morgan will be tasked with finishing what the researchers here started, so after January has spoken to you, use the computer and open the large blast doors, causing the previous entity to come into the chamber and form a new Phantom using the corpse on the ground.

Scan this, and then take out the Phantom, who is a considerably tough enemy, but isn't one that moves particularly quickly. After this, head through the door that was previously locked on the opposite corner of the room from which you entered, and proceed to the end of this corridor, killing the Phantom and the Mimics here. After this, head through the next door, to the G.U.T.S. area.
