We know what Portal 2 is going to look like when it lands, but for some territories, the question of when that will happen is a fractious one indeed.

Australia can now proudly discount itself from the masses: the girted shores have a solid April 21 release date at last.

EA Australia confirmed the date Friday morning, according to the local arm of Gamespot; the formal announcement follows on from unofficial reveals before Christmas.

The Down Under date is two days after its US equivalent of 19 April, but sneaks in ahead of Europe on 22 April.

Originally scheduled for a 2010 release, Portal 2 was expected to meet a February 9 2011 before being delayed into April this year.

The rabidly anticipated sequel will release simultaneously across all three platforms of PC, PlayStation 3, and Mac - the latter thanks to the OSX-native version of the Source engine, while the PS3 port has been given a helping hand by recently established relationships between Sony and Valve.
