Popular Fortnite streamers miss out on qualifying for the $1 million Winter Royale

The Fortnite Winter Royale qualifiers are over, and some of the game's top streamers failed to nab a spot in the finals.

Last week, Epic Games announced the Fortnite Winter Royale Online Tournament with $1 million in prizes up for grabs. The qualifiers took place over the weekend, and some popular streamers didn't make it into the top 200 in their respective regions.

Dot Esports reports that Turner “Tfue” Tenney, Daequan “Daequan” Loco, Ali “SypherPK” Hassan, Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff, and Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo all failed to qualify, while Twitch Fortnite favourite, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, managed to score 29, bagging 150th place and a spot in the finals.

As Dot Esports points out, players who didn't make it through may still get a second chance. In order to be eligible for the finals players have to be aged 16 or over, and fill out an Eligibility Survey that has to be approved by Epic.

This could free up a number of spaces, and move players who were close to qualifying up the ranks.

The European finals run from November 30 – December 1, and the North American event takes place on December 11 and December 12.

You can keep up to speed with the standings on Epic's website.
