Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Dusk Form Lycanroc Guide

While Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon didn’t add that many new pokémon compared to the original games, there are a few out there to collect. One such pokémon is an alternate evolution of Rockruff - the Dusk form of Lycanroc.

Rockruff originally had two forms, Midday and Midnight, and which one your Rockruff evolved into would depend on the time of the day that it reached level 25. The new Rockruff form is similar, however it must be evolved specifically between 5:00pm and 5:59pm.

There is another requirement, and it prevents older Rockruff from evolving into this third form. To evolve into the Dusk form, your Rockruff must have the Own Tempo ability, an ability that is impossible to find in-game by normal means.

There is a way to obtain one, but you’ll have to be quick. If you have Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon, make sure you use the Mystery Gift option on the main menu and select the option that downloads a gift over Wi-Fi. This will get you a Rockruff with the Own Tempo ability, and you’ll be able to pick this up from any Pokémon Centre so long as you have space in your party.

From there, just make sure it hits level 25 between 5:00pm and 5:59pm. Good luck!
