How to Catch Clauncher and Clawitzer in the Pokemon Sword and Shield Isle of Armor DLC

You can catch Clauncher and Clawitzer by heading to the East side of the Island, close to the Tower of Waters in which you can level Urshifu. By heading into the ocean beyond you can start to search for either Pokemon, both of which have a small chance to spawn in the water. In our experience, you can find them in any of the following sections:

  • Honeycalm Island
  • Honeycalm Sea
  • Stepping-Stone Sea
  • Insular Sea

Once you do find one, you'll want to avoid attacks that are super-effective against Water-types (Electric/Grass), as neither Pokemon has great defensive stats and it's all too easy to beat it by accident. Instead, use neutral attacks to gently lower its health, while also using paralysis and sleep to keep it from doing too much damage.

Can You Get Clauncher and Clawitzer in Pokemon Shield?

It's worth mentioning that Clauncher and Clawitzer only spawn in Pokemon Sword! If you have the expansion pass for Shield, you won't be able to get hold of one without trading with another player or using Pokemon Home to transfer it.

How Strong are Clauncher and Clawitzer?

Clauncher is not especially powerful before it evolves, but once you do evolve it, Clawitzer is a viable team option. Clawitzer are best as Water-type "glass cannons," as their incredibly high Special Attack and Mega Launcher special ability make them extremely powerful. However, they have very few defensive options, so once hit by any powerful attack there's a good chance they might faint immediately.
