Which Starter Pokemon to Choose in Pokemon Quest

Pokemon Quest features a new active combat system which allows players to build teams of three pokemon and use them to defeat waves of enemies. The first thing you have to do in the game, just like in most Pokemon games, is pick a starter pokemon. There are five to choose from, so we’ve gathered together a list of all of them, along with their base stats:

  • Charmander: ATK-126, HP-76
  • Bulbasaur: ATK-76, HP-126
  • Squirtle: ATK-101, HP-101
  • Pikachu: ATK-131, HP-71
  • Eevee: ATK-101, HP-101

The first few missions you go on in Pokemon Quest are very easy, so your starter pokemon won’t matter too much in terms of strength. Bulbasaur is a good choice as a defensive option, able to heal during battle. Charmander has good attack stats, and is able to use Fire Spin to hit groups of enemies from afar. Ultimately it all comes down to personal preference, but given that fire type pokemon are less common in the game, we’d recommend Charmander. Eevee is also a good choice, as its normal type moves will be effective early on in the game.
