Pokemon Go's new tracking feature in beta testing - here's a quick look at it

Here's a look at the new tracking mechanic in Pokemon Go which is being tested by some players in San Francisco.

It revolves around Pokestops, and shows the user the closest location of the Pokemon.

You can see it in action via a tweet from Jackson Palmer below.

The tracking feature was made available to some users in beta form.

With the release of v1.30 patch on iOS and 0.33.0 on Android, players will be able to use the Sightings system which shows various Pokemon in the player's vicinity.

If you head over to Eurogamer, you can get a look at screencaps of the update, Sighting, and a look at the game asking if you are driving or a passenger.

Please don't lie and claim the latter. We want you alive, as do your parents, significant others, pets, grandparents, children, and the local government because one less person means less taxes collected.

The patch also fixes points bonuses while catching Pokémon, will allow the player and on-time chance to change their trainer name, and the battery saver has been restored for Apple users.
