Pokemon GO update will introduce Alolan forms to the game for Gen 1 pokemon
Pokemon Go is getting Sun and Moon's Alolan pokemon forms in an impending update.
Pokemon Go will soon be seeing the exotic — and always hilarious — Alolan forms from Sun and Moon coming to the app in the near future.
Niantic announced the news in an update earlier today, saying that the tropical Alola region's beasties would be on their way in the next few weeks.
"These unique variants were first seen in the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon video games, and they will make their way to Pokémon GO in the coming weeks," reads the update.
Pokemon Sun and Moon first introduced players to the Alolan forms of the Kanto pokemon. There are 18 total and presumably they'll all be coming to the app.
As well as some fancy new pokemon in the pipeline, Niantic is making a second attempt at Pokemon Go events in Chicago and Dortmund, and will hopefully avoid the shambles that was last year's event.
Players can also try their hand at nabbing themselves the legendary Ho-Oh, who's returned for Raid Battles and will be hanging around until June 7.
