Pokemon Go players worldwide finding Shiny Pikachu in the wild, Mewtwo coming to Exclusive Raid Battles

Reports of Shiny Pikachu spottings in Pokemon Go surfaced yesterday, and today Niantic Labs as confirmed the critters are appearing around the world.

Shiny Pikachu in Pokemon Go first started appearing in Japan last week during the Pikachu Outbreak event. Now, the rest of the world can get in on the fun.

Of course, the cuties will still be a rare occurrence, with a deeper color than usual. As with other Pokemon titles, the color difference will also apply to evolved forms of the Pokemon.

Those still trying to catch a Legendary bird for Pokemon Go have until August 31 to nab Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, or Lugia in Raid Battles. Hopefully, you'll get all four, so good luck.

And don't forget about Mewtwo, as the Pokemon will be available through the Exclusive Raid Battle feature in the coming weeks.

Trainers battled Mewtwo at the Pokemon GO Stadium event in Yokohama, Japan earlier this week.

Similar to existing Raid Battles, Exclusive Raid Battles periodically appear at Gyms around the world, but unlike current raids, Trainers will instead be invited to join.

In order to receive an invitation for the Exclusive Raid Battle, Trainers must have successfully completed a raid recently, by defeating the Raid Boss, at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place.

The invitations will include information in advance when the Exclusive Raid will take place.

Mewtwo is the first Pokemon that players will be able to face in Exclusive Raid Battles, but Niantic said more may spawn from Raid Eggs found at Exclusive Raid Battles over the next several weeks.

We'll keep you posted.
