Pokemon Go updates Mega Evolutions, Ghost-type Pokemon event coming soon

Niantic Games has changed how Mega Evolutions work in Pokemon Go, and have announced a Ghost-type event coming to the game.

Pokemon Go Mega Evolutions will change in two ways just in time for October Community Day.

According to the development team, the duration that Pokemon stay in their Mega-Evolved form has doubled from four hours to eight hours.

Also, the cap for Mega Energy has increased from 999 to 2,000. This limit applies to each individual type of Mega Energy, not the total amount of Mega Energy you have across Pokemon species.

As for the upcoming event, players will find Ghost-type Pokemon appearing more often during the Catch Mastery: Ghost event.

It starts on Sunday, October 25, and runs from 8am -10pm local time.

During this time, Drifloon will be appearing more often in the wild and you might encounter a Shiny one if lucky.

There will be exclusive Timed Research available only during this event. Complete the event-exclusive Field Research tasks to encounter Ghost-type Pokemon and earn Gengar Mega Energy.

The bonus during the event will be additional XP when catching creatures with Nice, Great, Excellent, and Curveball Throws.

Have fun.
