Pokemon Go has surpassed $1.8 billion in revenue worldwide

We all know Pokemon Go has made tons of money, but and latest estimated figure shows just how much money folks have thrown at it.

Sensor Tower estimates total revenue for Pokemon Go has surpassed $1.8 billion, up from $1 billion in January 2017.

According to the research firm, worldwide spend comes in at $2 million per day. The majority of revenue is attributed to the US ($607 million) and Japan ($500 million), followed by Germany, Taiwan and the UK.

58% of revenue came from Android users, with iOS users contributing 42% to total revenue.

Now in year two, Pokemon Go  remains a top 10 app by revenue, and is number nine overall for the month of June. Last month, it grossed an estimated $70 million worldwide.

The game is also in the App Store’s top 10 grossing charts in 21 countries, including the US, UK, Germany, and Canada. It currently sits in 14th place on Japan’s top grossing iPhone app chart.

Pokemon Go recently added a trading feature among other updates, and is currently celebrating its second birthday with a special gift for fans: Pikachu with sunglasses.

The latest Community Day event takes place tomorrow. Players who complete Field Research tasks on July 8 have the opportunity to catch a Squirtle sporting sunglasses.
