Pokemon Company files new hardware patent
The Pokemon Company, Nintendo and Ambrella have filed a new hardware patent for a device that reads NFC and RFID chips.
The same type of tech is used in Nintendo's Amiibo figures, as well as Activision's Skylanders and Disney's Infinity toys.
According to Joystiq, the device also reads credit card chips (ker-ching!) and was filed by Norio Matsumura, frequent collaborator on Pokemon games.
Is it a new Pokemon gadget? A real-life Pokedex? Get speculating!
