PlayStation Phone heads to America May 26

The long-awaited "PlayStation Phone", Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play, has already launched in parts of Europe and Canada, but hasn't yet made it to the United States. Don't worry though, you've got just over a week left to wait.

Sony Ericsson first announced the Xperia Play in February, announcing the game would go on sale "the following month" in a number of territories. That didn't happen. Instead, it took until April 1st to arrive in the UK, Ireland and Spain, heading to Canada later in the month.

After another month of waiting, the U.S. is next in line, with Verizon confirming the new hardware will be available on its service starting May 26th (next Thursday), for US$200. (That price involves the customer also purchasing a two-year voice/data plan from the company, which will set you back up to US$40 per month).

Early adopters, you'll be able to start your pre-ordering from this Thursday, through Verizon's online store, says Gamespot.
