Watch someone play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare using DK Bongos
An inventive Modern Warfare player has found a way to make the Donkey Kong Bongos drum controller relevant in 2020.
DK Bongos, if you're unfamiliar, were GameCube controllers designed mainly for the Donkey Konga series, and later Jungle Beat. Seeing as it's just a pair of Bongo drums, you never really imagine them being used to play a non-rythm game.
But, people have been using Rock Band controllers for years to play games, so it's only fair that the DK Bongos join in on the fun. Streamer Super Louis 64 wanted to see if he can win a match of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare using nothing but the DK Bongos.
He uses the surface of the left drum to move, and the right one to aim. The start button, as awkward as it is, is what handles shooting. Unfortunately, due to the limited functions available on the drums, he can't sprint, aim down sights, reload or even switch weapons.
Amusingly, he's mapped the grenade throw to the DK Bongo's microphone. The mic is activated by any loud sound, though it was originally intended to pick up clapping. Still, it means anytime he claps his hands, he throws a grenade.
You can watch snippets of Super Louis' adventure below. His YouTube channel also has other experiments, such as using bananas to play Halo: Reach.
