PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: players can't currently earn BP on first-person servers because of a bug [Update]

More and more players are starting to try out the new first-person perspective in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, now that the patch is live.

Update: Bluehole has confirmed that the bug has now been fixed, following the release of a smaller 500MB patch.

You can find the original story below.

Original story: However, a number of people reported not being able to earn BP after finishing first-person matches. BP is the in-game currency earned by dealing damage to players, killing, and winning.

You always come out with some BP, even if you died early, but it looks like this bug prevents the game from dropping any. BP is used to buy crates that contain cosmetic items, including the three that launched today.

Developer Bluehole just posted a tweet acknowledging the issue, and confirming that it's working on a solution.

This particular problem couldn't have been identified during the testing period, because test servers don't give out any BP by default. We'll update the story when we hear more.
