PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds next monthly update coming May 25, leaderboards to be wiped May 31
We now have a better idea of what PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' next patch will bring.
Before the launch of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, developer Bluehole revealed a specific schedule for how updates will be delivered throughout the Early Access period.
The studio promised to release weekly patches that would focus on fixing the most critical bugs, and update the game's anti-cheat solution. Monthly patches, on the other hand, are reserved for new content, performance and server lag improvements. With that in mind, the developer has now confirmed in a series of tweets that this month's patch will release on Thursday, May 25.
This patch will focus on client performance. Next month's patch will tackle the server performance issues causing the lag. Following the May 25 patch, the game's first leaderboard wipe will take place on Wednesday, May 31.
The new leaderboards will go in effect beginning June 1. Interestingly, the developer said that pre-wipe stats will be made available again before June 15, though it's unclear if this will be under a separate section.
Bluehole recently teased the release of a new weapon, and although these tweets don't make mention of new content, there's still hope the weapon will be ready in time for the patch's release.
