PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds myth busting confirms a frypan can handle all the crossbow bolts you throw at it

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has some weird rules.

Watch on YouTube

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds players are always looking for an advantage over their deadly foes (ie, each other), so it's good to know what works and what does not.

YouTuber DefendTheHouse has put together a Mythbusters style examination of a stack of different PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds legends. The strangely relaxing video above takes you through them with full evidence, but we've summarised the results below.

  • Myth #1: you can be crushed by a care package
Nope! Player Unknown's Battlegrounds doesn't allow you to die in this ignoble way if you happen to be distracted when the goodies are raining down. Your character will be shunted sideways or even up if the crate hits your head.
  • Myth #2: frypans are impervious to crossbow bolts
This seems to be true. No matter how many crossbow bolts you fire into a pan, it stays strong and true. Is this any help to you? Not unless an update makes a crossbow butt shot the deadliest thing in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
  • Myth #3: you can be revived after a deadly fall
Sure. A long fall results in a KO, which you can recover from.
  • Myth #4: you can be revived after drowning.
No. Do not drown in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. It is a mistake.
  • Myth #5: you can punch another player out of a moving vehicle
You can, but it takes guts, since the players in the car could easily run you down or shoot you while you're trying to sneak up.
  • Myth #6: you can shoot grenades to blow them up in another player's hand or on their body
    Alas, no.
  • Myth #7: crossbow bolts over-penetrate allowing for collateral kills
They do not. They stick in their target. Otherwise the pan thing wouldn't work. It seems PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has consistent physics.
  • Myth #8: you cna land a double flip on a bike
This one's not so much a myth as a "look what I can do". What you can do is land a double flip on a bike. Well done.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has had numerous updates since its Early Access launch 11 weeks ago and has become something of a quiet hit with 3 million sales and 200,000 concurrent players.
