PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds can evade the circle in a brand new location starting this very day.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds showed up at The Game Awards 2017, as you'd jolly well hope given how it has dominated this past year in gaming.
Developer Bluehole used the opportunity to announce it is opening the new Miramar desert map on PUBG's test servers tonight. You'll be able to play for about four hours after The Game Awards ends, which right now feels like it may never happen to be honest.
Whether you dive in or not, you can get an eyeful of the Miramar desert map by admiring the new PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds trailer below. How convenient! The map will be free for all players, by the way.
Here's PlayerUnknown and Bluehole's statement on the new map:
We are excited beyond words that we can finally share the name of our new desert map and tell you a little bit about some of the places you can visit. When we decided to create a new map, we focused on creating an environment that is very different from Erangel. We wanted to go the opposite direction of having lush fields and forests and arrived at the harsh and unforgiving desert of what we can now reveal is Miramar. The unique terrain and dense urban areas of Miramar will create a new Battle Royale experience where the old strategies may no longer work and new tactics are required.

Bluehole also reiterated that the Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is set for December 12, and said the Version 1.0 release of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on PC is coming December 20.
