Playerunknown's Battlegrounds Charity Invitational just raised over $220,000
The huge popularity of Playerunknown's Battlegrounds may have just saved some lives.
Watch live video from playBATTLEGROUNDS on www.twitch.tvThe 2017 Charity Invitational brought together numerous streamers from across Europe and the US, who competed in DUOS mode over Twitch while viewers were encouraged to donate. All proceeds went to Gamers Outreach, an organisation that "provides equipment, technology, and software to help kids cope with treatment inside hospitals."
The game's developers, Bluehole, agreed to match donations up to $100,000 (to celebrate the game selling more than 2 million copies), which the viewers surpassed. As of right now, donations are up to $122,000, bringing the total to $222,000.
