Play for Japan hits $120,000 charity milestone

Fledgling charity organisation Play For Japan has announced it has managed to raise over $120,000 in just over two months.

Play For Japan was founded in the wake of the March earthquakes and tsunamis, which caused massive damage to towns, villages, and farm land resulting in mass evacuations and nearly 15,000 deaths reported so far.

Developers, publishers and even generous fans have donated piles of sweet merchandise to the charity's auctions in order to raise funds for relief organisations struggling to provide aid to tens of thousands of displaced people. Play For Japan also acts as a hub for news on independent fundraising efforts.
