Find the Secret Room in the Sewers
If you have played through the story quests a bit, you will likely have already discovered the underground sewers in the Backyard Battleground. However, you should still be able to access the sewers without doing quests. The sewer area has multiple entry points, but the easiest entry is near the no man’s land in the center.
Before you head to the sewers, make sure you are playing as a Scientist. You will need the Scientist warp ability to access the secret area later on. Start by heading toward the Flag of Power in between the two sides of the backyard. Walk toward the marketplace, and drop down where the ground dips. The entrance to the sewer is just beneath the Flag of Power.
Enter the sewers and locate the Crazy Targets Range. This is the door with the large gnome and star on the front. Don’t walk toward the door. We are just using this as a reference point.
While facing the Crazy Targets Range door, walk along the wooden walkway on the right, and follow the concrete path to the upper right of the Crazy Targets Range. There will be several chests along the way, including a chest near the far wall on the left. This will will become a door to the secret area once you have gained access.
Look over the metal railing, down toward the toxic sludge below. At the bottom, you should see two copper pipes. Hop over the railing, and drop down onto the larger pipe closest to you. Turn around, and follow the pipe as it curves beneath the walkway.
At the end of the pipe, you will see a tunnel across the way on the far wall. This is where your Scientist Warp ability comes in handy. Aim toward the tunnel, and use the Warp to shoot across the sludge, landing safely on the other side.
Continue through the tunnel until you reach an elaborate chamber. This chamber contains several free chests that reward you with coins, diamonds, and other rare items. There is also an interesting model of the Backyard Battleground on the table in the center.
Along with coins, the first chest grants a super rare Backyard Item called the Legendary Lighthouse. The second chest will give you even more coins, and the last chest will give another super rare Backyard Item called the Unknown Champion. These items are used throughout your backyard.
When you are ready to leave, exit the chamber and head through the passage to the right of the sewer pipe you entered from. At the top of the passage, shoot at the brick that has mushrooms on the front to press the button. This will destroy the wall to your left, allowing you to return to the main sewer walkway where you dropped down earlier. With this passage open, you can return to the secret chamber whenever you wish.
