PlanetSide 2 Amerish update is live, video shows continent's redesign

PlanetSide 2's latest update has gone live. It overhauled the Amerish continent, which is the last of three launch continents to be optimized.

It also comes with the addition of the Lattice System, which was previously deployed on Esamir and Indar.

"As with Esamir and Indar, we added the Lattice system, which links the bases together into battle lanes that help to create more cohesive flow of massive scale battles," creative director Matt Higby told Massively.

"Along with the changes necessary to facilitate the lattice, each of the individual levels (bases and outposts) have gone through an extensive redesign. And nine new outposts have been added to the continent. Overall the continent now represents all of our combined learning from the last two-plus years about how to make great MMOFPS levels."

The updated was slated to go live on Wednesday, but the team needed a few extra days for polish.
