PixelJunk 4am to release on PSN in the spring

Q-Games has announced PixelJunk 4am will release this spring, and those attending GDC next week will be ale to try it out.

The title's art and music director DJ Baiyon will also be on hand to deliver a performance, which will be followed by free playtime for everyone.

In the game, players can use the Move controller to "tell the music what to do," making the title more of an "instrument than a game," according to the developers.

"There’s no pointers, no shooting, no ‘waggling’ mini-games," wrote Q's Rowan Parker on the PS Blog. "This is an instrument built from the ground-up to fully utilize the PlayStation Move hardware.

"Using all 3 spacial axes (X, Y & Z plus one more axis for twist), the accelerometer and the gyro, we’ve built a Virtual Canvas in space for you. Your PlayStation Move is then tracked through space using a vibrant palette of changing sphere colours. Imagine an intricate Audio Canvas floating in space that you can use to paint and craft music on.

The game will also incorporate its own own radio broadcasting station through PSN, and those playing will have their session streamed live on the service for anyone who want to tune in an listen - whether they own the game or not.

A free Viewer will be available to everyone and it will be downloadable through PSN, and players can promote their creations with Facebook and Twitter tools implemented in the game.
