Pikmin 3 Deluxe's latest trailer encourages you to ‘Meet the Pikmin’
Beloved Wii U game Pikmin 3 is getting re-released on Switch as Pikmin 3 Deluxe, and we've got a new trailer to enjoy ahead of its launch later this month.
In case you're new to the charming series, Nintendo has pushed out a new trailer aimed at getting you familiar with the funny little creatures.
You can see the trailer below, and it's a pretty good touchstone to get acquainted (or re-acquainted) with the game if it's been a while since you've played the series.
It makes sense that Nintendo wants to re-release the game on Switch: precious few people actually owned a Wii U, and the company has seen some pretty good results of re-selling Wii U titles on the hybrid console.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Xenoblade Chronicles and Tokyo Mirage Sessions have all performed well on the console after being given a second chance on newer hardware.
This version of the game makes everything a bit more accessible for players that prefer to enjoy the game without its strict time limit.
"Return to your ship before time runs out, or you (and your Pikmin) could be in big trouble," reads a blurb over on the Nintendo site. "If you prefer a more casual approach, a variety of difficulty settings, lock-on targeting and optional hints have been newly added. With less pressure, you have more time to strategically command your Pikmin and take in the lush scenery."
That's a nice addition that's sure to make the game appeal to a whole new audience.
There's more content included in the Deluxe version of the game, too:
"This deluxe version of the Pikmin 3 game includes new side-story missions featuring Olimar and Louie, the ability to play Story mode with a friend and all DLC stages from the original release. Feeling competitive? Enjoy fierce head-to-head Bingo Battles and online leaderboards for Mission mode."
Pikmin 3 Deluxe launches on Switch on October 30.
