The NBA may have suspended the season, but the Phoenix Suns aren't quite ready to call things off. The organization announced last night that it would be playing its season games in a virtual setting: NBA 2K.

On Twitter, the Suns confirmed they will continue playing season games in NBA 2K. These matches will start today with the Suns' previously scheduled Saturday match against the Dallas Mavericks.

The organization says more info is coming today on when and where to watch the match happen. No word yet on who exactly will pick up the sticks for the Suns or the Mavs, though it'd be pretty entertaining if each team's players were competing in the 2K match.

The NBA 2K League, in the meantime, had the start of its 2020 season postponed yesterday due to concerns over the coronavirus. In the coming weeks, the league plans to have its teams compete in preseason competition remotely from regional locations, rather than in-person. While Dallas has a team in the 2K League, Mavs Gaming, the Suns actually don't have a squad in the virtual league.

NBA 2K20 seems to have become the fallback for players who can't get their fill of basketball after the league's suspension. Yesterday, 2K players noted that the Start Today feature in MyLeague was having some issues, since it had no league to start from anymore. Still, with the COVID-19 coronavirus affecting nearly every segment of the games industry and sports as well, a remote online basketball experience seems preferable to none.
