Peter Molyneux to keynote PAX Prime
Bullfrog founder, 22 Cans lead and all-round games industry hero Peter Molyneux will open PAX Prime with one of the event's famous Storytime sessions.
"The only hard part about choosing a speaker for these things is the scheduling; if we want them to speak, it’s a very good chance that we aren’t the only one," Penny Arcade's Jerry Holkins wrote in a post announcing the news.
"The choosing part is incredibly easy. Peter Molyneux was like a Rockstar to me, one of the first whose games I could seek out by personal pedigree. I really, really can’t wait to hear what he has to say."
PAX Prime runs August 30 through September 2 in Seattle; passes have been completely sold out for some time.
It seems almost redundant to add a paragraph explaining who Molyneux is. The British designer is responsible for Populous, Dungeon Keeper, Theme Park, Fable, Black & White, Curiosity and Godus. He's won oodles of awards. He remains resolutely uncynical about games and communicates his enthusiasm in a famously exaggerated fashion, which has resulted in significant backlash against his 'broken promises'. He's actually exceedingly genuine.
