Joker joins Super Smash Bros. Ultimate alongside new Stage Builder
Nintendo has officially announced that Persona 5's Joker will be joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Roster tomorrow, April 18.
As previously revealed, Joker will be available as part of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass, or separately through the Challenger Pack 1: Joker DLC (£5.39).
In either case, Joker will arrive alongside the Mementos stage and some Persona series music tracks.
That's not all, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's version 3.0 update is also bringing a new major feature: Stage Builder. Though the Smash Stage Builder technically leaked last week, Nintendo confirmed all remaining details in a lengthy video.
The stage builder is, as you might have already guessed, a stage creator suite that lets you create arenas for the game. The Switch's touchscreen can be used to draw freely, and you'll be able to add moving platforms, spinning traps and decorate your creation with back layers. Created stages can be shared online through the Smash World service, a new addition to the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app.
You'll also be able to play on any of your saved stages from a new tab on the Stage Select screen.
The update is also adding a video editor that lets you edit any Super Smash Bros. Ultimate videos you have saved on the console. You'll be able to add sound effects, and subtitles or simply string existing clips together for a longer presentation. Like stages, you'll be able to share your work with the community through the Smash World service.
