People Can Fly's Bulletstorm revealed as next GI cover star

Bulletstorm

Gears 3? Nah, the real meat is People Can Fly's Bulletstorm: it's on the newest cover of Game Informer.

As previously speculated, this is the shooter Epic is creating with EA handling publishing duties.

The story sees you in the 26th century as Grayson Hunt. You're apart of a Black Ops unit called Dead Echo, headed up by General Serrano.

Hunt's given a mission to assassinate a man who is responsable for thousands of deaths. Once the team makes its way through to the target, it's revealed he's "actually a really good guy," according to People Can Fly boss and Bulletstorm's lead designer, Adrian Chmielaz.

Because of that, Hunt refuses to kill the target and is now the most wanted man in the galaxy. Ten years have passed since that event, and Hunt now lives out on the fringe of space with a cyborg named Ishi Sato. All of a sudden, Hunt sees the warship that his old boss General Serrano uses, known as Ulysses.

Drunkenly deciding to destroy the ship with his own, both ships go spiraling towards a planet below, which is described as a Dubai/Las Vegas-like playground that once was.

And that's where the s**t hits the fan. The world Hunt and Ishi now occupy is now full of flesh-eating creatures, mutants and more.

People Can Fly has also said there will be online multiplayer for sure in the game, but it won't have any co-op at all.

Already, there's scans out and about. Get them here.

Game's out in Q4 FY2011, according to EA, for PC, PS3 and 360.
