Paper Mario Sticker Star was announced by Nintendo for 3DS. It will be released digitally and physically this holiday season.
The story of the game takes place during the annual Sticker Fest, when Bowser decides to pull a prank and scatter six Royal Stickers across the land.
To retrieve these magical stickers stuck to Bowser and his underlings, Mario and sticker fairy Kersti set of on an adventure to visit prairies, and traverse through the deserts, forests, snowy mountains and volcanoes.
In the game, stickers are blended into every aspect as will also be your arsenal of items and attacks like in traditional Paper Mario action-battles. These battles can also reveal new areas and ways to progress through the game.
Players will collect stickers by peeling them off their environment, buying them in shops, or even making their own. They can be stored in the game's notebook for later use.
Users can also flattened out the world and use stickers to find secret areas and hidden items anywhere in the game. The papercraft setting of the game is emphasized in 3D, giving players another layer of exploration via a shoebox diorama world.
