Overwatch's next hero is a mad scientist named Sigma
Blizzard's been teasing Overwatch news for a few days now, but today, the company officially revealed Sigma, the 31st hero on the roster.
According to the villain's origin story, which you can watch in the neat cinematic below, Sigma was an astrophysicist whose already eccentric mind was ravaged in a black hole-related experiment-gone-wrong.
We don't know Sigma's abilities just yet, but all the signs seem to indicate he can warp gravity. Some Reddit users speculate he'll wield grenades that curve projectiles or an anti-gravity beam.
We don't know when Sigma will go live in the game, but Baptiste – the most recent addition to the team – went live less than a month after Blizzard revealed him.
Overwatch's annual Summer Games seasonal event is going on right now, and the latest update also changed the game in a big way with the addition of a "role queue" system that locks players into a class for a game's duration. Here's why the feature's inclusion creates more problems than it solves.
