Overwatch beta: play Blizzard's shooter this weekend

Another Overwatch beta? Excellent.

Overwatch beta testers will be invited back into Blizzard's tantalisingly imminent team shooter this weekend. It's another PC only test, I'm afraid; those of you on PS4 and Xbox One will just have to wait for the Overwatch console beta in May.

The test will run from 9:00am PT April 15 through 9:00pm PT April 16. All 21 heroes will be available for use on the Hanamura, Route 66 and Nepal maps

Blizzard is opening the doors to loads of testers to stress its hardware, and has asked for technical feedback on how the game runs under these conditions. The developer warned that you may experience problems during the test - that's what it's for, after all.

You can download the client ahead of time, and won't need to reinstall if you already participated in the last closed beta. Not yet an Overwatch beta tester? Log into your Battle.net account and then opt-in to the beta. If you are selected, you'll receive an email, but before it arrives you may find the Overwatch beta license will appear on your account, and an install button for the test will be available in the Battle.net desktop client.
