Descent spiritual successor Overload comes out of Steam Early Access in May

Overload is finally ending its Steam Early Access journey in a bit over a month.

Overload is the Descent spiritual successor that first took to Kickstarter in 2016. The projected is created by Revival, a studio founded by Matt Toschlog and Mike Kulas, co-founders of Parallax Software.

The project was funded shortly after going live, and it managed to hit Steam Early Access in March last year. Now, over a year later, the game is ready for prime time. Revival announced today that Overload will be released on May 31.

Upon release, the game's Early Access price will rise from $25 to $35, which is also when the game will receive a major update to add multiplayer. PS4, and Xbox One versions are planned for release sometime in the third quarter of the year.

To celebrate, the developer released a new trailer to get you all excited. If you've never tried Overload, or really any six-degrees-of-freedom shooter before, check out the game's free demo.
