The Outer Worlds blasts off Friday, and here's what reviewers think of Obsidian's latest.
After spending the last decade making old-school isometric RPGs, The Outer Worlds is a throwback to Obsidian Entertainment's post-apocalyptic spin-off Fallout: New Vegas. While the bombs are gone and the grass is greener, there's more than a little bit of the Mohave wasteland in this space cowboy adventure.
Arriving late to a colony on the rim of the galaxy, you'll find yourself in a web of corporate conflict, espionage, and frontier retrofuturism. Like Fallout, you can choose to be the hero of the people, get in deep with a faction, and take down capitalist big-wigs.
Or forget all that, and become the biggest bastard this side of Alpha Centauri.
