Oscar is a new Kickstarter game that focuses on the hardships of growing up

Oscar is the Kickstarter debut from Team Sharkeye that focuses on a young girl growing up, and dealing with real issues experienced by children today.

The Oscar Kickstarter campaign is now live, and at the time of writing it has made $6,842 Canadian of its $40,000 goal, with 26 days left.

Developed by Team Sharkeye describes Oscar as, "a young girl's story finds a voice in a game about the problems we couldn't explain growing up." Protagonist Oscar is an everyday little girl, who adventures through childhood daydreams with her plushie elephant Flynn. As you progress you'll start to get a handle on the difficult life beneath her playful fantasies.

It's said to be rooted in the real problems many of us faced while growing up, and takes a 2D platforming approach with colourful backdrops that come with a perspective-shifting mechanic. The game is listed as DRM-free but a full list of formats has yet to be published.
