Online publisher Aeria Games acquired by German media company
Aeria Games, which runs F2P titles such as Need for Speed World and Battlefield Heroes, has been acquired by ProSiebenSat.1 Games.
Aeria Games employs around 500 staff across locations in Germany, Brazil, the US, Japan and Korea.
The combined company now claims a community of 77 million and a portfolio of 39 licences, although it's not yet clear whether that will include titles such as Age of Conan: Unchained, F.E.A.R. Online and Tribes: Ascend.
“The acquisition of Aeria Games Europe allows us full access to new markets and target groups, making us one of the top three publishers in Europe in one fell swoop, and takes us a big step forward in mobile gaming, the sector’s largest growth driver," said Dr. Christian Wegner, Member of the Executive Board of ProSiebenSat.1.
