Oklahoma "violent" games tax bill defeated

VideoGameVoters is reporting that Oklahoma House Bill 2696 was defeated in the House Revenue and Tax Subcommittee on February 20.
This legislation, created by Republican representative Will Fourkiller, would have placed a 1% excise tax on the sale of "violent" games.
But VGVN readers sent OK Subcommittee on Revenue and Taxation and to Fourkiller that showed the bill would have affected non-violent games that encouraged players to get fit, like Zumba Fitness.
It added in its vocal outcry that it was rejected by SCOTUS to impose restrictions based on content for videogames on a state-by-state basis.
