Offensive Combat studio U4iA Games to close - statement
Offensive Combat developer U4iA Games is to close, as confirmed in a statement and tweet from the company's creative and social director Jeremy Dunham.
The official statement reads, "It is with a heavy heart that we write this, but tomorrow, January 15, 2014, will be the last day of operations for U4iA Games. Our sincere apologies to all of our fantastic, supportive fans over these last few years - we wish we could have done better for you. Thank you very much for your support and we hope to see you again on the other side."
In addition, Dunham took to Twitter today to announce that the studio will close today.
The decision to close U4iA Games will see 26 staff members looking for work, after it was formed in 2011 by former Activision employees Dusty Welch and Chris Archer. GI.biz adds that Welch was a core member of the original Call of Duty team, and in releasing Offensive Combat on mobile and tablet formats, had hoped to build on that success.
