Oculus "special announcement" slated for The Game Awards 2015
Oculus Rift release date? Yes please.
The Game Awards will feature a "special announcement" from virtual reality manufacturer Oculus, according to a new trailer hyping Thursday's event.
Host Geoff Keighley confirmed founder Palmer Luckey will be in attendance to make the announcement, which we can't help but speculate will be the release date for the Rift headset.
The VR tech is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2016, with pre-orders opening later this year, so it's about time we got some solid details on date, price and final specs.
Tune into The Game Awards 2015 for all the action, which also includes ten world premieres such as Far Cry Primal gameplay footage.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony follow suit with more details on PlayStation VR at PlayStation Experience on the weekend.
