NSW government forks out $291K for four local projects
The New South wales Government's Interactive Media Fund has committed to contributing $291,000 to interactive projects.
MCV Pacific reports the funding will be split across four projects.
The successful schemes are probably best described as interactive rather than games, although one, The Hive, is directly concerned with games; the project aims to bring together social networks, TV and other connected services in order to try and connect in-game problem solving with real world issues.
New South Wales Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner said the fund is designed to assist with "commercially-oriented projects that are destined for distribution on web-enabled platforms or devices and interactive video game consoles" in order to secure a slice of the growing "high-value digital games sector".
