NPD: Black Ops moved 4.9M on Xbox 360 and 3.1M on PS3 in November

The NPD Group has provided a break down of Black Ops sales per platform for the month of November, and it reports more units were sold of the game on Xbox 360 than any other version.

According to the report given to Gamasutra, the 360 version sold through 4.9 million units and the PS3 version 3.1 million units.

Black Ops also moved 400K units between DS, PC, and Wii rounding out the 8.4 million units sold for the month, but sales of the title over on Steam were not included in the report.

Activision announced massive figures for the game last month, citing sales of $650 million in the first five days of release,  sold 5.6 million units in the US and UK on day one, with 1.4 million units sold in the latter, with more than 2.6 million people having played the game online day one and logging 5.9 million multiplayer hours on XBL.

It's rather popular, obviously, and Gama reports that for November there was a 60/40 split between sales of the game on 360 and PS3, while in comparison, last year's Modern Warfare 2 launched with a  70/30 split.

The game also sold less than Black Ops during its first month on the market, as it moved only 6 million units compared to the 8.4 million units for Black Ops. The numbers reveal the ratio of Xbox 360 and PS3 sales to be at 3:2, which closely resembles the current US  installed base of the two consoles, according to figures punched up by Gama.
