North Korean propaganda uses Modern Warfare 3 footage to show New York under attack

North Korean propaganda network Uriminzokkiri has created a seemingly anti-American propaganda video, containing footage of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 that shows New York City being bombarded by missiles.

The clip was unearthed by LiveLeak, and the site explains that the video was uploaded on Saturday on behalf of North Korea's state media. It comes days before an alleged nuclear test will be carried out by the country.

It features a cover of "We Are the World" by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson, and shows a young man dreaming of a rocket going into space - an achievement of the country back in December - which then cuts to a scene of New York being attacked from Modern Warfare 3.

The text allegedly then reads, "Somewhere in the United States, black clouds of smoke are billowing. It seems that the nest of wickedness is ablaze with the fire started by itself."

The clip ends with the man stating that surely dream will "surely come true".

Now, bear in mind that none of us here speak Korean, so do take LiveLeak's translation of the above lightly. We're looking into confirming what the text says.

We're also pretty sure that Activision hasn't given Uriminzokkiri permission to use the clip, but what are your thoughts?

Thanks Kotaku.
