No Man's Sky platinum trophy gives a nod to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The list of No Man's Sky trophies is in the wild, and they're spoiler free.
"In an infinite universe, the one thing sentient life cannot afford to have is a sense of proportion," so writes Douglas Adams about the Total Perspective Vortex, which is both a torture device in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and the name of the platinum trophy in No Man's Sky.
"When you are put into the Vortex you are given just one momentary glimpse of the entire unimaginable infinity of creation, and somewhere in it there's a tiny little speck, a microscopic dot on a microscopic dot, which says, 'You are here.'"
It seems a fitting tribute considering the scale of the game.
The trophy list is over on exophase, and they're all geared towards exploration, gathering and uploading data, and other explorer-based activities.
But the best part is the trophy names.
Have Spacesuit - Will Travel, The Forever War, and A Space Odyssey are just a few, and they take their names from a range of sci-fi novels. A Scanner Darkly even makes an appearance.
No Man’s Sky launches on August 9 for PC and PS4.
