Originally slated to be released in US on August 9 for PC it will now arrive on Steam the same day those in the UK get it, August 12.

The date change was announced on Twitter by Hello Games founder Sean Murray. It will now release worldwide on PC on that date.

"I really want to clarify our PC release date. It's something we're working extremely hard on," he said. "PC NMS release will now be global and will be August 12th worldwide. It's so important we get it right and make the best version we can.

"There are reasons we have to be tight lipped at times. I'm sorry for the confusion caused. I'm here tonight adding support for 21:9 monitors. We don't even have one. I've stuck some cardboard to the side of mine."

That's good news for those who own a widescreen monitor, but a bit disappointing for those who itching to play the game on the original, intended date.

It was also announced online discovery made by players who acquired the game before release would be wiped due to a server reset coming tomorrow.

Players will also find that their saves will not be compatible with the update being applied to the game on Monday, the day before the game's released.

No Man's Sky is still set for release on PlayStation 4 on August 9 in North America and August 10 in Europe.
